Autumnal Outdoor Tea Ceremony

  • Oaklawn Park 1200 East 2500 North North Ogden, UT, 84414 United States (map)

Come enjoy the autumn season and a community of friends with an outdoor tea ceremony!

Through the way of tea, we are invited into a spacious silence — deepening the breath, quieting the mind, and allowing for peace-filled rest. This is not a casual cup of tea, but living tea: aged puerh, cultivated from old-growth tea trees. When shared in ceremony, such tea carries a rare power to reconnect us with the depths of our true nature, and to help us recognize that same essence in one another and in all of life

In ceremony we practice letting go — of restlessness, busy-ness, not-enoughness — so we can fully receive the spirit of tea. Each bowl is a journey: sometimes gentle, sometimes profound, always transformative. You may arrive with aches, questions, or challenges, and find tea meeting you right where you are, guiding you back toward center.

While we will gather in community, this kind of ceremony is one that honors silence. The invitation is to deepen your own personal practice and enter into interior spaciousness in the company of others who wish to honor this kind of healing silence. Any dialogue shared will come only after a period of deep stillness and quiet communion with tea.

Contribution: This gathering is offered by donation, please contribute what you are able to. Suggested donation is $15-35. Your support helps us continue holding these ceremonies.

Practical Notes

• Please dress comfortably and bring a jacket for sitting outdoors in the evening.

• Please bring your own cushion or blanket for comfort. We do have 6 floor cushions for anyone who needs but may not have enough for everyone. We also have 2 cushions with back support for anyone who finds it difficult to sit on the ground — especially supportive for older participants or those experiencing pain or discomfort.
